This game is intriguing me. Robopocalypse story, squadmate banter, establishing squad trust by how you talk to them AND how you deal with them during combat, and a friggin robot squadmate ….I’m definitely going to check out the demo now.
I was not aware of this game, but I LOVE the song they used in the trailer! Well, until the glockenspiel-y bit at the end. Going to have to check it out.
The song IS nice!
I don’t know anything about gameplay, but I’ve never liked Robopocolypse type stories. It always comes back to, “okay, they evolve to achieve sentience. So why are they still of a hivemind and why the hell would they want to kill all humans?”
(I mean honestly, yes, they’re angry, but it’s not like we killed all the British once we won the Revolution. After the Civil War, it’s not like all the slaves killed their owners (and damn, I don’t think anyone deserves to die, but…). It’s like, isn’t that sorta… improbable? Yet it’s such a popular scenario
I like what Mass Effect did with the Geth in ME2. They are, technically, a hivemind (or at least they’re like…facets of a program on a server or something; let’s not get technical), but they have the whole “heretics” thing. They gave us a reason to kill some geth and not others. (Well, Legion. Most geth, and not Legion.)
I don’t know.
I just don’t like the simplicity of it.
Most of the time in video games, I like to have a reason to kill things other than “the game is telling me to.”
Anyway. I kinda wanna check this game out.
